Get ready for Summer with a DIY Kegerator Kit

There are many ways to build you own kegerator. we’ve put together a few notes…
Some of the things you will need to work out are:
• Home Use or Off Grid
• Type of Fridge/Ice Box
• Size of Kegs
• Tower Font or Tap

Do you want to have the kegerator for just home use or do you want one that’s portable?
Choosing one that’s portable can give you the best of both worlds. The best portable is a compressor fridge running off 12v or 240v so you can keep it cold no matter where you are as long as you have power. The downside to this is $$ and you don’t want to start drilling into your $1,500 Engel. Another option for this is to put a font on the top of the lid where there’s no pipes, downside to that is height, you could only put on when you need it but holes etc will be an issue. If you have an old Engel you can just buy a new separate lid and use the font when required as the lids come off easily. There are also now kits that you can attach to your car fridge when you need to pour so you only use it when you need it. An Esky (or Ice Box) is a cheaper option for portable off grid beverage dispensing if you’re away for a night or two. Best suited for a couple that want to enjoy a couple of bevvies each evening for the weekend, not for your hard core ‘80 Series Club Event…If you need that 3rd or 4th night chilled drinks then you’ll need a roto moulded ice box that keeps the temperature down for a few more days
For home use you can use a new or (even better) pre loved small bar fridge which will fit a 10 to 20 ltr keg. All you have to do is drill a few holes into the top, put the line through and bolt down the font tower. The fonts and tap are available in chrome or black. Just an hour for a novice handyman will give you a Summer full of craft beer enjoyment for you and your mates! You can also drill through the door as well and use a tap with a shank or the new Mini tap option. We recommend that you get an Ink Bird Temperature Controller to make sure your fridge stays at a constant temp no matter how hot or cold it is outside.

Our Mission

We were sick of transporting and drinking costly cans and being left with bags full of leaking, crushed rubbish at the end of our weekend camping trip. That got us thinking, what if we could do it like they do it at the pubs? Pouring icy, cold pint after pint, wash the glasses and have no mess after. That's when we started designing. Many beers in the shed later, and the Camp Keg 'OG' was born.

We made one for a mate, who then showed his mate and he wanted one. After making five we got to thinking "is it just us or is this a great idea?" Fast forward six months and here we are!

Sink a pint, send us a photo of you enjoying our product and we will feature you on our page!
